Bio

Dr. Anne Tasaki received her optometry degree and completed her residency in pediatrics and primary care at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry (UCBSO). Currently Dr. Tasaki is a full-time assistant clinical professor in the pediatrics and primary care clinics at UCBSO where she teaches third and fourth year optometry students as well as mentors the current pediatrics, primary care and community health residents. She also works as a pediatric optometrist for Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael. She previously provided comprehensive vision care to preschool students in lower income communities through the non-profit See Well to Learn Program with Prevent Blindness Northern California, and is passionate about children's vision and improving access to and education about early intervention.

Dr. Tasaki is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She previously held the positions of President Elect as well as Co-Director of Education for the Alameda and Contra Costa Counties Optometric Society. She also currently serves on the Continuing Education Committee for UCBSO.

Dr. Tasaki enjoys hiking and trail running in her free time, and exploring new and interesting places to eat in the Bay Area.

Bio

Dr. Junge graduated with honors from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry where she also completed her residency training in Low Vision and Ocular Disease. Dr. Junge recently completed her PhD in Vision Science on the UC Berkeley campus where she also teaches in the optometry program. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Junge enjoys traveling, hiking, and fishing, spending time with her family, watching Jeopardy, and cheering on her California Golden Bears.

Jacqueline Theis, OD, FAAO

Bio

Dr. Theis is a Clinical Instructor at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry and is the Director of the newly founded UC Berkeley Sports Vision Institute which provides research and clinical care in post-concussion vision problems and sports vision performance. She has residency training in binocular vision, neuro-optometry, and vision therapy and performs clinical research in partnership with UC Berkeley Intercollegiate Athletics and Sports Medicine in vision changes post-concussion.

Dr. Theis works as a neuro-optometrist for Kaiser Permanente in San Rafael and Petaluma, treating patients with double vision and vision problems from systemic and neurological disease including stroke and traumatic brain injury. In addition, Dr. Theis works as a sports vision consultant, working with athletes and teams to enhance their performance. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an active member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association, and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. She is a national lecturer in neuro-optometry and sports vision, and has a keen interest in understanding and improving visual performance.

In her free time Dr. Theis enjoys trail running, hiking, and exploring the Bay Area with her dog.
