Bio
Dr. Charlotte Yiyi Wang is honored to serve as the Director of Communications. An optometrist and vision scientist, Dr. Wang is passionate about improving patients’ vision and advancing efforts to prevent blindness and visual impairment.
Dr. Wang is a Senior Scientist at Genentech, Inc., where her work focuses on retinal imaging biomarkers and visual function endpoints in ophthalmology drug development. Her clinical background in comprehensive eye care informs her research, with particular interests in preventive strategies, early diagnosis of ocular conditions, and the management of chronic eye diseases.
Dr. Wang earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she also completed a residency in Primary Care and Community Health. She subsequently earned a PhD in Vision Science from UC Berkeley, specializing in adaptive optics imaging and visual psychophysics to study the human retina.
Dr. Wang is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and an active member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO).

Chrystina Yu, OD
Bio
Dr. Chrystina Yu earned her Integrative Biology bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley and her Doctor of Optometry degree at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. She is currently working at Lamorinda Optometry in Lafayette, where she is passionate about providing personalized care and improving the quality of life of her patients.
Dr. Yu is a Bay Area native with extensive backgrounds in Wushu/Kung Fu (contemporary Chinese martial arts) and choreographed dancing. She is an avid foodie and boba-enthusiast, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and eating out, traveling, and exploring the outdoors.
